Event of the Month: RegTech Wave Talks I
On January 22, the RegTech Wave Community came together at The Hood TEKMER to explore the latest innovations in RegTech and HRTech. Industry experts, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders joined us to discuss the future of regulatory technologies and AI-driven HR solutions.
The event kicked off with opening remarks from Semiramis Kulak, Managing Partner at SGlobe, and N. Barış Okur, Co-Founder of Viveka. This was followed by the keynote speech from Ali Osman Özdilek, Founder of Jurcom, where he provided insights into emerging trends in regulatory technologies.
During the demo sessions, Şefik Yunus Özcan, CEO of Efili, presented solutions for simplifying compliance-related permission management, while Berker Batur, Co-Founder of Callwiser, and Esra İkiz, Growth Manager at Callwiser, introduced an AI-powered candidate screening and assessment tool that enhances recruitment efficiency.
One of the most engaging segments was the panel discussion, “Collaboration for HRTech Growth,” moderated by Baha Tosun, Technology Leader at Sistem Global. Panelists Begüm Karslıoğlu (Co-Founder, Jobtogo), Mustafa Şişman (Founder, Callwiser), and Nazım Onur Bayındır (Founder & CEO, Idenfit) explored partnership opportunities and the evolving landscape of HR technology.

Viveka Insights: Major Transformation in RegTech – New Report Highlights Industry Growth and AI’s Impact
The RegTech Association (RTA) and Deloitte have released the Industry Perspectives Report 2024: Protecting People, providing key insights into the latest developments in the RegTech sector. Based on a global survey, the report highlights that regulatory authorities remain highly engaged with RegTech solutions, while customer expectations continue to be a major driver of adoption. Fraud and scams have now entered the top five risk areas, showing an increasing focus on these issues. In addition to traditional sectors like finance, insurance, and government administration, new industries such as healthcare and telecommunications are also starting to adopt RegTech solutions.
The report emphasizes the transformative potential of Generative AI in the RegTech industry. 73% of respondents believe that Generative AI will significantly impact areas like regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering (AML/CTF/Sanctions) within the next 1-2 years. Additionally, 67% of RegTech firms are already using Generative AI, while machine learning (62%) and natural language processing (50%) are also being widely adopted. The report also notes an increase in private equity investment, although angel investing and self-funding have slightly declined.
RTA CEO Deborah Young outlined three key focus areas for 2025: developing safe and explainable Generative AI applications, prioritizing customer and consumer outcomes, and strengthening financial systems against fraud and scams. RTA aims to enhance global collaborations to ensure financial stability and security while keeping up with technological advancements. Deloitte Partner Sweta Maira also highlighted the strong growth potential of the industry, emphasizing that innovation and strategic focus will continue to drive RegTech’s evolution.
